Cookie policy

Draft pending legal review. Last updated: 19 August 2026.

1. What cookies we use

We use a small number of cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are always on because the service cannot work without them. Analytics cookies are set only with your consent, as required by the EU ePrivacy rules as implemented in each country (for example section 25 of the German TDDDG and the Croatian Electronic Communications Act).

2. Strictly necessary cookies

  • Sign-in and session cookies that keep you logged in and secure your session.
  • A security token that protects forms against cross-site request forgery.
  • Your active organisation (a signed cookie so the right school workspace loads).
  • Your language preference.
  • An anonymous board identifier, only if you use a board without an account.
  • Your cookie choice itself (cookieControl and cookieControlPrefs, stored for 12 months).

3. Analytics cookies

If you consent in the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics, which sets cookies such as _ga and _gid to help us understand how the public site is used. Nothing is loaded before you consent. If you decline or later withdraw consent, analytics cookies are removed.

4. Your choices

When you first visit, you can accept or decline non-essential cookies in the banner, and you can change your choice at any time by reopening the banner. Declining does not affect your access to the service. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but strictly necessary cookies are required for the service to function.

5. More information

For how we handle personal data generally, see our Privacy policy.
